Arundel Cathedral - Sustain« Back
St. Ann's Gate Architects have been involved at Arundel Cathedral since 1997. Originally working with the then Bishop of Arundel and Brighton, Cormac Murphy O'Conor, a phased programme of work was proposed, to re-present the interior of the Cathedral, to re-order the building liturgically, and to create new visitor facilities. Whilst the last two of these projects remain unrealised, the first was undertaken, with a project to clean the interior stonework and to install new lighting and sound systems. In addition, the external landscaping wrapping around the western end of the Cathedral was re-designed, to form a fully accessible entrance sequence into the building. This work was completed in 1999 to mark the Millennium.
