Gloucester Cathedral New design, and conservation of historic fabric

Practice director Antony Feltham-King has been Cathedral Architect at Gloucester since 2009. During that time he and the practice have worked on a series of fascinating projects, ranging from the conservation of the historic masonry and glazing, to creating new elements to enhance the Cathedral. Project Pilgrim Phase One (2016-2018) delivered an improved welcome for all who visit the Cathedral, with a new landscaped approach (designed by New Leaf Studio of Bristol), and a new draught lobby inside the historic south porch, designed by St.Ann’s Gate Architects. Other new additions, such as carefully designed ramps and new platform lifts, enables access for all from one end of the Cathedral interior to the other. Our work at Gloucester continues, with ongoing fabric repair projects. A major conservation campaign for the Great Cloister is about to commence.
